Q7590 | WINTON | 1921 #Qantas
In November 1920, a handful of western Queensland graziers founded an airline in a town called Winton. Nine of them personally guaranteed its debts at the bank. One was George Morgan-Reade of Bladensburg Station.
His son Colin rode with the 2nd Light Horse at Gallipoli | an ANZAC family through and through, in the same town, in the same years that gave Australia Qantas.
Q7590 was issued in 1921, the founding year of the Q series, and recorded to George Morgan-Reade in the 1923 List of Motor Owners in Queensland against his Hupmobile | Box 105, Winton. It carries a full Certificate of Provenance, verified against primary sources.
First-year number. Founding family. Plates like this do not come back to market.
