These incredibly special and rare 2-digit Queensland number plates have been in my family since purchased at the The Great Queensland Plate Auction – 1985.
Significance of 74 was two-fold. Motor cross racing number of Tom Gibson, and the birth year of his daughter. They have brought much pleasure and pride to our family.
Queensland Traditional Heritage plates Black ‘Q’ on a white background, followed by white numbers on a black background.
Heritage plates are generally considered to be the first official number plates issued in each Australian state or territory.
Q plates are the original number plates issued in Queensland.
The “Q” signifies the State of Queensland.
